Before and After Care
The most painful areas to tattoo are typically places with less muscle, thinner skin, and more nerve endings. Common high-pain areas include the ribs, spine, sternum (chest bone), neck, head, hands, feet, inner thighs, armpits, knees, ankles, and areas close to bone.
Pain tolerance varies from person to person, but these areas generally feel more intense due to vibration against bone and increased nerve sensitivity. During your consultation, placement and comfort level will always be discussed to ensure the best experience possible. (see chart)
